30 Days on KETO, What I Learned
I’ve been on Keto for a month now.
I did not turn from Clark Kent into Superman.
I do feel generally better. I have more steady energy through the day.
A few things I picked up on.
1.It takes a massive amount of discipline to stay on this diet. You gotta have a big reason to do this. Mine is battling cancer more details on that shortly.
My wife isn’t participating so there is still ice cream in the freezer, freshly baked cookies and bread in the kitchen, and candy. Having housemates who participate would make it easier.
2. Condiments have tons of hidden sugar and carbs in them. Even supposed KETO-friendly stuff. It turns out my favorite BBQ Sauce is about 30% sugar. Sigh.
3. Hungry feels different. I am not usually hungry when I get up in the morning and could easily push breakfast back a few hours. Part of KETO is long stretches between meals, but the cadence of our household makes that impractical.
Now I eat two meals a day, I worry about what’s in the meal but not so much about how much. That may change later, but for now when I eat I eat as…
