UPS is no Longer a Package Delivery Service
That may be what is on the side of their trucks, but it’s a secondary business. They are doing everything they can to turn the customer into a commodity. Much like Facebook does so well.
Here is the deal:
I ordered a super cool new iPhone from Verizon to ship to my house. It’s so cool they don’t keep them in stock at the stores. Since I am going from a 7 to a 13 pro I am more than a little excited to get it. Yes, I have been living in the Apple stone ages.
Update — I eventually got a 14 pro, which is amazing! Shipped via FedEx.
Verizon sent a message that it had shipped and provided tracking info. Great service. I logged on and found it would be delivered today. I can’t stay home for the day so I expected a note when I got home.
Sure enough there it was, a sticker is on my door from UPS that they missed me and the package requires a signature. No problem totally makes sense. Not a new rodeo.
As instructed by the sticker I go to the UPS website. I decide to change the pickup point to a local CVS so I can get it at my convenience. I can’t sit at home all day waiting for UPS to show up. Even though I really want it.
Here is where everything went sideways and UPS proved package delivery is a side business.
